I am all for home drug testing….i have a 10 year old and if i am very sure he is using drugs i will get him tested so i can get him the appropriate help needed i was a user many years ago i never want my son going down that path he wont be yelled at he will be helped and supported…
as i said id only use that if i pretty much knew he was ill do every thing i can to protect him and id rather nip a drug addction/use in the beginnings then before it gets a whole lot worse

No it is ineffective way a fight with a teen. All this will do is give you the evidence needed to prove his/her guilt. Also it will make the teen learn a negative lesson from this approach.
Talking and giving info is all you can do, no ONE PERSON can stop drugs or the usage. Giving the teens info from an ex-user is the best bet to get the point across. At the end of the day it’s the person sole decision to use and abuse.
The only chance you have to fight the problem is educating the teen on the risks involved, not just the usage, but the ways the substances are obtained through drug deals and the high risks of dealing with those involved. The loss of money and friends and even families, jobs, etc. The reasons why society pleads these substances to be illegal and the issues involved with getting caught.
The tests themselves are very useful and somewhat accurate, urine can identify most drug usage in the matter of minutes. You can buy ones that identify alot of substances. Even at corner drug stores sometimes.

it might help him.. but most likely not those are so easy to just pass even if you are drugs. anything like water… anything will make you pass.

The “War on Drugs” is a complete and utter failure, so no doubt this will be too. I think someone addicted to drugs and/or alcohol needs rehab, but I also don’t agree with giving drug tests to teens simply because they’re teens. It’s an invasion of privacy.
