The absolute best are ‘Beautiful Boy’ by David Sheff and ‘Tweak’ by Nic Sheff. Both are non-fiction: ‘Beautiful Boy’ is a father’s memoir about his son’s decade-long addiction to drugs, and ‘Tweak’ is the son’s first-hand account of his addiction. They are incredible!

You can read excerpts from both at these links:

A Million Little Pieces by James Frey was really good. It is about this guy who is highly addicted to pretty much everything and his close to death and his experience in rehab.

Crank by Ellen Hopkins and Glass are also really good. It is about this girl who gets into meth and her struggle with life.
