If she doesn’t want to quit rehab is of no use. Even if she does want to quit, rehab is often no use. They detox you and send you off to AA or Narcotics Anonymous. I highly recommend reading Rational Recovery by Jack Trimpey, there is a section in the back for the family members of addicts. Specifically you want to read this part, and if your Mom expresses any desire at all to stop, then hand off the book to her. I quit drinking all on my own with the suggestions used in this book, which principles will certainly apply to any addiction. No meetings, no rehab. It’s worth a shot, and will definitely help you understand addiction, and maybe help your Mom.
